In the Heart of People

Bloomvibes is 53 acres in Princeton, Texas, near Frisco and McKinney, given over to the things people gather for. Roses, open ground, food grown on the land, music, and room to make something.

We would rather show you the place than describe it. Walk the ground, stand where your celebration would sit, and tell us what you are planning.

Visits are by appointment, so that someone who knows the garden walks it with you rather than handing you a map.

What we are making

A word about the photographs on this page. They are the intention, not the inventory: the gardens, kitchens and studios we are building toward, gathered while the land takes shape. What is here today is 53 acres, and the honest way to see it is to walk it with someone who can tell you what goes where.

The rose garden

English roses, chosen for scent as much as for how they photograph. The idea is a garden you walk into rather than look at, big enough that a birthday at one end and someone reading at the other never meet.

The open ground

The part of the land kept clear on purpose. A ceremony, a family meal that runs long, a graduation, an anniversary. One setting that becomes whatever you carry into it, which is the whole argument for open ground over a room.

The kitchen and the cafe

The Poets Cafe is contemporary South Indian and keeps its own kitchen and its own site. Around it we are making room for handcrafted Indian food prepared to order, cooking treated as a craft rather than a service, and a marketplace for traditional work.

The farm

A plot you can reserve and grow vegetables in, with the seeds, the watering and the organic manure provided, and a food farm behind the kitchen. What we grow is what we feed, which only works if the growing is close enough to walk to.

The studio

Every craft wants a room that was built for it and not lent to it. The studio is that, and beside it a quieter space for mindfulness practice, for beginners and for anyone keeping one going.

Music and the long evening

Live music after dark, festivals through the year from Holi to Diwali, and the kind of company gathering that wants sky rather than a ceiling. These need open ground and an evening nobody is hurrying, which is most of what 53 acres is for.
